On June 21st hundreds of local musicians, singers, choirs, soloists and bands will take over the parks, churches, train stations and public spaces that surround Brisbane Street Studios for Fete de la Musique 2012, a huge worldwide celebration of live music in all its forms.
The international event is the biggest festival of its kind and takes place in 450 cities across the globe on June 21st each year. It was thought up by the French government in the 80s and this will be the 5th time Brisbane has joined in the fun.

You can expect reggae on the river, Turkish folk music at the Museum of Brisbane, acoustic guitar instrumentals in city squares and live music long into the night in churches, shopping centres and even on buses! All events are free to attend.
