Annerley, Brisbane

Annerley is Brisbane’s charming suburb full of life, zest, and character, with a mix of townhouses and business centre’s. Named after a town in England, it is located 6kms south of the Brisbane CBD. Most of Annerley is situated on an elevated plane, on a ridge that gives breathtaking views of the city.

This moderately-populated suburb has apartment blocks, town houses, accommodation, shops and fast food outlets that give Annerley its comfy and relaxed pace. Ipswich Road is Annerley’s major road; it is actually one of Brisbane’s main traffic arteries in the south. At the junction of Ipswich and Annerley Roads one can find a shopping precinct and a library, both of which are operated by the Brisbane City Council. Aside from these, Annerley residents also have lots of options of major shopping centres all within an easy drive or close to public transport. Chardons Corner, Fairfield Gardens and Moorooka Central are nearby, as are Woolloongabba and Greenslopes Shopping Centres found nearby to Annerley.

If malls and shopping centres aren’t your cup of tea, then it is suggested that you take a quiet stroll down the shopping precinct where you will find cafes and secondhand and antique stores that are idyllic and nostalgic. You can also find fashion bargains at the Lifeline store.

A short distance away is one of Brisbane’s major hospitals, the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Drive a few minutes from the center of Annerley and you will find Toohey Forest, a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city into the tranquility and allure of its eucalypt forest.

It is easy to fall in love with Annerley, and to resist its charms can be quite the task. Annerley is a lovely and alluring place that has both the city lifestyle and suburban appeal.
